Technical Manager Embedded Systems

Role: Seeking an experienced Embedded Manager for one of our esteemed clients

 

Job Spec

 

Responsibilities

 

Functional leader

-       Hire and develop the right resource for the Embedded  organization.

-       Responsible for Performance Management and development

-       Build right infrastructure and deploy Design and Development tools/methodologies

-       Training the team on required competence.

-       Allocate /Share resource to multiple project.

-       Responsible for outsourcing of Engineering resource and other support services for the Hardware sub-system.

-       Own and continuously improve the SDLC process, align with the CE/FDA requirement

 

Subsystem Architecture and Design

-         Supports Lead System Designer in  defining Product Configuration

-         Support Hardware Manger in defining the Hardware architecture and selecting the right controllers.

-         Develop Subsystem System Design Requirement Specification –SDRS

 (Embedded Software Architecture, Sub-system integration, Electro-Mechanical, Hardware and Software interface definition, etc.)

-         Review design documents during subsystem development

 

Integrated Program Plan

-         Develop/Refine deliverables estimates for input to Alpha / Beta plan.

-         Own the subsystem deliverable (Proto, Documentation, V&V,..)

-         Tracking at Subsystem level (Milestone and Integration Step Deliverables)

-         Planning and Manpower commitment, with schedule risk analysis/contingency plans

 

Execution and Control

-         Weekly Subsystem Execution Control Meeting  Chair

-         Subsystem Design Defect/Bug  Review Leader

-         Problem and Escalation (to the Program Manager)

 

Subsystem Verification and Validation

-         Subsystem Test specification

-         Assure that all tests trace to requirements or design specs

-         Subsystem Safety, Regulatory and Importation Leader

 

Qualifications:

 

·         Minimum 8-10 years hands-on work experience.

·         BE /MTech -  Electronics Engineering

·         Must have good experience in designing software/firmware on a 8 bit / 16 bit / 32 bit microcontrollers, DSP  processors/controllers, microprocessors.

·         Must be very creative in designing software/firmware algorithms.

·         As Manager, it is desired to have a good exposure of systems involving electro mechanical interfaces and the control criticalities involved in the software/ firmware.

·         Experience in writing interface drivers on different platforms is highly desired.

·         As a lead professional, it is desired to be well versed with SDLC or equivalent software development procedures and be able to establish / influence in the job environment.

·         Lead a team of 3-4 engineers

·         Wide knowledge and experience with different types of microcontrollers/processors/DSPs

·         Reasonable ability to study and understand hardware

·         Strong Mathematical and analytical skills

·         Assembly, C,C++ - familiarity with different tool chains, ability to help the team adapt to change in tool chains

·         Experience with RTOSs, knowledge of Linux/ real time Linux will be a plus

·         Knowledge of communication networks for eg. Ethernet/tcpip, profibus etc.

·         Optics and Video – knowledge of optic/video elements and standards like lenses, cameras etc.

·         Experience with Image processing – algorithms, standard libraries etc.

·         Version Control systems
